Seven Years & Three Kids Later . . .

Seven years ago, my young husband and I got married and went on our honeymoon to the exotic place of . . . Jackson Hole, Wyoming! It really was kind of exotic to me because I had never been there. However, if I had known that just two years later we would be moving within 60 miles of this exotic destination, I might have suggested we go somewhere else. But, we didn't know that we would be moving to Idaho Falls at the time, so we went to Jackson and Yellowstone Park and had a great time.

Don't we look young? And carefree?

Here we are at the famous arch in Jackson. Again, don't we look young and carefree? Now look below.

Not so young anymore, and definitely not carefree.

We're smiling, but we're exhausted. Taking three kids under the age of five for an overnight trip anywhere is A LOT of work, as we found out.

I'd like to say that we hiked up this mountain, but when your two oldest girls cry that their legs hurt when they're only walking around the block, you know your limitations. We took the tram up above Teton Village to enjoy the view.

Lilly kept trying to escape from the carriage ride.

Kate tried to do it too. But we talked her out of it.

I told you we were exhausted!

I love that. So funny! It's amazing how quickly life sneaks up on you. And, by the way, you still look young to me!

I love the before and after kids photos. I have three under the age of 5 myself (and two older) and I can totally relate to your hiking comments. Maybe in a few years we can hike more than 1/4 mile. I have a blog now angelamakescookies.blogspot.com

Looks like you had fun despite the exhaustion. I grew up going to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone, but Mike has never been there. We have been talking about going sometime so he can visit the sites.

Wow you guys did look young and carefree! Funny what life does to us! JAke and I were just looking back at some pics of us when we first met and we were so young looking! Sad but I'll take what i've learned over how young I look!

Fun pictures! I am glad you guys were able to take a quick trip with the family...even if it was exhausting. And, by the way, I think you look better 7 years later! :)

Oh, I am dying. I just took the kids camping to Bear Lake, where Russ and I visited twice before kids. Young and Carefree is exactally right. Post kids, a LOT of work, especially for mom, packing is a nightmare. Vacations will never be the same when you are the mom, but the kids always remember them as being great. Oh, and since I planned the trip, and we basically had a hurricane and rain strom while we were there it was MY fault the weather was bad. It looks like it was fun though. Hope you are doing well. Luv ya

We went to Jackson Hole for our honeymoon a little over 9 years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long. I totally agree, trips are WAY different before kids and after kids. Still fun, but often times you have to put what you want to do on the backburner for what the kiddos want to do.

If you want to talk young and carefree....remember our trip our senior year of high school with Kjarsta, Aubrey, Monique, Lisa, you and I? Now that was definitely carefree.
